The hospital center specifies that the state of health of the patient, a man in his thirties, “does not inspire concern”. He remains for the moment in an isolated room at the CHU, under medical supervision. The establishment also confirms that this case “has been the subject of a declaration to the ARS of Nouvelle-Aquitaine”, the follow-up of any contact cases of the patient is also ensured. It could therefore be the first case of monkey pox detected in the New Aquitaine region.
66 cases in France on Tuesday evening
As of Tuesday evening, health authorities counted 66 confirmed cases of infection with the monkeypox virus in France. “As of June 7, 2022 at 2 p.m., 66 confirmed cases of monkeypox have been reported in France”, indicates Public Health France (SPF) on its site. The previous report, Friday, reported 51 cases in France. On Tuesday, there were 48 in Île-de-France, 8 in Occitania, 5 in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, 2 in Normandy, one in Hauts-de-France, one in Center-Val de Loire and one in Paca.
