Google and Crunchyroll announce a multi-year strategic partnership to accelerate and support the anime streaming service’s ambitions globally.
This partnership for Crunchyroll relies on the existing contract between Google and Sony Pictures Entertainment, which plans a collaboration between Android, Google TV and Android TV OS, YouTube, Google advertising solutions and Google Cloud. The leader in anime streaming will work with the Mountain View firm to strengthen its direct-to-consumer business to achieve truly next-level scale, flexibility, and audience experiences.

- Inform product and content innovation: Using Google Cloud’s expertise in data management and analytics, AI and ML, Crunchyroll will be able to better use customer insights and from users to inform the development of new fan experiences and future developments
- Reach Audiences Worldwide: Crunchyroll will be able to achieve wide distribution of its content and subscription services with Google Play on Android, Google TV and other Android TV OS devices
- Connecting Fans to Content and Fueling Growth: With Google’s advertising solutions, Crunchyroll will be able to continue to deliver a unique ad-supported video-on-demand experience for fans, delivering over 100 episodes. This will allow it to expand its reach, connect with key audiences and grow its platform through a seamless advertising experience.
