Thursday morning, L’Equipe revealed the existence of an agreement between OL and Ajax Amsterdam for the transfer of Nicolas Tagliafico.
Looking for a left-back to compensate for Emerson’s departure to Chelsea, Olympique Lyonnais made Tyrell Malacia its priority at the start of the transfer window. Excellent with Feyenoord Rotterdam last season, the Dutch international finally signed up for Manchester United for 15 million euros. Eager to recruit a cador for this position, OL have activated other avenues. Axel Grimaldo (Benfica) is followed but according to L’Equipe, it is Nicolas Tagliafico who is the priority of the Rhone club. Thursday, the national daily revealed the existence of an agreement between Lyon and the Dutch club for a sum of around 5 million euros including bonus. An agreement denied a few hours later by journalist Simone Rovera on the RMC antenna.
No OL-Ajax agreement for Tagliafico
Indeed, the transfer window specialist explained in After Foot that according to his information, there was no agreement between Olympique Lyonnais and Ajax Amsterdam for the transfer of Nicolas Tagliafico. If it seems true that the Rhone club makes the Argentinian its priority, it seems that Ajax is not so easy in negotiations and has not yet agreed to the departure of its left side. For his part, the player has not validated a departure for OL either. As indicated Thursday by L’Equipe, Nicolas Tagliafico is procrastinating while waiting to see if a club qualified for the next edition of the Champions League comes forward. A few weeks ago, an interest from FC Barcelona for the Ajax defender was mentioned, the Catalan club looking for a double for Jordi Alba. But Barça, which is currently trying to recruit Robert Lewandowski, has other fish to fry. Nicolas Tagliafico could therefore settle for OL, provided that Les Gones and Ajax find common ground.
