According to Google statistics, searches for Anne Frank peaked in February 2022
To mark the 75th anniversary of the publication of the “Diary of Anne Frank”, Google has honored the young girl victim of the Holocaust with a slideshow that lists the moments of her life.
The animations have been launched in more than 25 countries – including the United States, Germany and Great Britain.
The scenes depicted on the Google homepage were illustrated based on Anne Frank’s own description of events in Anne Frank’s life and were inspired by the collage style featured in her diary.
German illustrator Thoka Maer, art director of Google Doodle who created the designs, said it was a way to bring the memory of Holocaust victims to life.
According to Google statistics, searches for Anne Frank peaked in February 2022 when Netflix released “My Best Friend Anne Frank,” a drama based on the relationship between Anne Frank and Hannah Goslar, her best friend.
Statistics also showed that Anne Frank is one of the 60 researches related to Jewish culture.
German-born Anne Frank emigrated to Amsterdam shortly after the Nazi regime came to power in 1933. Five years later, she died in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in Germany.
