A real demonstration before the start of the competition. The France team made short work of a weak Vietnamese team (7-0), Friday July 1, at the Stade de la Source. In front of the Orleans public, the French women put on a show for their last preparation match for the Euro.
Delphine Cascarino put Les Bleues on track from the 5th minute, before her teammates scored five more goals before the break, then a seventh goal twenty minutes from time. “It was quite important to gain confidence in view of the Euros. We finished our preparation matches well, 7-0 is good for confidence”reacted Kadidiatou Diani after the meeting
All the lights are green for the Bleues nine days before their entry into the running at the Euro in England, even if it is difficult to draw solid conclusions against a particularly weak evening opponent. On the lawn of the Stade de la Source, the French offensive line shone, with at least one goal on the clock for each of the three starting attackers, Kadidiatou Diani (two goals), Delphine Cascarino (one goal) and Marie-Antoinette Katoto (one aim). Incoming Selma Bacha and Sandy Baltimore also performed well on the ball.
At the other end of the field, Pauline Peyraud-Magnin and her defense, where Aïssatou Tounkara appeared as captain in the absence of Wendie Renard, spent a much calmer evening, hardly disturbed by the rare incursions of the enemy. Another opposition now awaits the French for their first match at the Euro, against Italy, 14th nation in the Fifa ranking, on Sunday July 10.
