Open to a departure from PSG, who would like to get rid of it, Neymar has been at the heart of the transfer window section in recent days. If nothing is yet fixed concerning the future of the Brazilian striker, who will be automatically extended until 2027 on July 1, El Pais recently revealed that the Parisian club would be ready to pay part of his salary in case of loan to another club.
And among the destinations likely to welcome the 30-year-old player, the Chelsea club, reinforced by its new owner Todd Boehly, was mentioned in particular. A rumor to which Thiago Silva, former partner of Neymar at PSG, reacted on Tuesday on the sidelines of an event in Recife, Brazil.
“He must come to Chelsea”
And the Brazilian central defender did not hide his desire to see his compatriot join him in England, in remarks granted to several media including the Jornal do Commercio: “He has to come to Chelsea. Currently, if it were to happen, it would be the best possible thing for us. Neymar is a player who needs no introduction, with his technical qualities and his performances that he was able to accomplish and it’s something I look forward to, if it were to happen”.
And to conclude: “He’s a friend and a player with very great qualities, so obviously I prefer him to be with us. I hope it can happen, but at the moment I don’t know anything”.
