Monkeypox: in which cities can you get vaccinated against Monkeypox in France?

With the rise in the number of cases of monkey pox in France, many are seeking to be vaccinated. Here is the list of cities that offer an injection against Monkeypox.

Monkeypox is gaining ground. The maximum alert was even triggered in the face of the epidemic by the World Health Organization. As of August 9, 2022 at 12 p.m., 2,601 cases confirmed have been identified in France, according to the latest report from Public Health France. The cases most frequently resided in Ile-de-France, in Occitania and in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Faced with this situation, vaccination is strongly recommended. But where can you get vaccinated in France? We take stock.

Few cities currently offer vaccination

“To date, more than a hundred vaccination centers are in place,” said the Minister of Health at the microphone of our colleagues from BFM TV. The government site shares the list of vaccination points open in France. A map is also available with this link, remember RTL.

In Hérault, two centers offer vaccination against monkey pox near Montpellier, one in Béziers. In the Gard, you can get vaccinated in Nîmes.

The time between two doses lengthened

“In order to guarantee the greatest number of people at risk access to vaccination”, the delay between two doses of vaccine against monkeypox will be increased, reports the Ministry of Health quoted by AFP.

Currently, the wait between the two appointments is 28 days. A recommendation from the High Authority for Health. In addition, the authority reserves the possibility of increasing this period “in the event of a tension in the supply of vaccines.” However, the government says that is not the reason. There is “no tension in the supply of vaccines”, says the ministry.

Who can get vaccinated against Monkeypox?

Currently, only adult contacts at high risk of monkeypox, medical students, multi-partner men who have sex with men, trans people reporting multiple sex partners, people in prostitution, professionals in places of sexual consumption are concerned.
