A huge track record
Departing from Fenerbahçe (Turkey), where he had been playing since 2019 after a big lease at CSKA Moscow (2014-2019), De Colo (185 selections for the France team) brings in his luggage an incredible list of achievements, both international and continental. 2013 European champion (silver in 2011 and bronze in 2015), third in the 2019 World Cup in China, silver medalist at the Tokyo Olympics last year, De Colo reigned as a club in Europe during the 2015-2016 season, at the end of which he accumulated the Euroleague title, of which he was named MVP and MVP of the final.
Twice winner of the event (also 2019), winner of the Eurocup (2010 with Valencia), the former player of Cholet Basket (2006-2009) had tried his luck in the NBA (drafted by San Antonio in 2009, 53rd ), without managing to make his mark with the Spurs (2012-2014), nor with the Toronto Raptors (end of the 2014 season). His return to the old continent then allowed him to fully express his basketball.
A big investor soon to be announced
The arrival of De Colo is part of a project to build a very competitive team on the Asvel side. In his press release, President Tony Parker thus justified this signature – and possible others – by the arrival of a “future major partner of the club”which will premiere on Monday, alongside De Colo. “It is with great pride that we welcome Nando to our team, so wrote Parker. First of all, I would like to thank him for the trust placed in our project. It is of course part of our desire and ambition to see the best French players evolve in our championship, but also to allow LDLC ASVEL to shine on the European scene. »
On social networks, the former San Antonio star has clearly displayed his ambitions by recalling that after winning Euro 2013 with his rookie, he hopes to be able to win Euroleague 2023 with De Colo at the head of his team.
