In comments collected by BILDthe president of Bayern Munich Oliver Kahn confirmed the agreement reached with FC Barcelona for the transfer of Robert Lewandowski (33 years old): “At the end of the day, FC Barcelona offered a sum that makes selling Lewandowski absolutely sensible for us. Moreover, we recently enjoyed great success in the transfer market and signed a world-class player for Sadio Mané’s attack. So we have reached an agreement with FC Barcelona. So far, only verbally, the contract is still ongoing.”
The Bavarian leader also confides behind the scenes of the negotiation, affirming that Bayern were in a position of strength: “It’s always about what’s best for FC Bayern, the club, the team and the fans. My job is only to always give the best to FC Bayern. We have always acted from a position of strength. And in the end, we felt it best to give Robert permission to leave. At Bayern, we can live very well with that. The end of the drama is approaching.
