Sergio Perez fastest time in the 3rd free practice session of the Monaco GP ahead of Charles Leclerc

After two first free practice sessions dominated by Charles Leclerc on Friday, Sergio Perez pointed the muzzle of his Red Bull this Saturday during the third session. The Mexican completed his fastest lap in 1’12”476.

The Ferrari driver, battling with Perez for the best lap throughout the last ten minutes, finally finished second, just 4 hundredths behind, which promises a hotly contested qualifying session this afternoon (from 4 p.m., to follow live on our website).

Mercedes down slightly

Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) completes the Top 3, 0.370 behind the reference time. The outgoing world champion and winner last year in Monaco, Max Verstappen (Red Bull), points behind the Spaniard, 0”405 behind his teammate. Great performance from Pierre Gasly, fifth in this session with his AlphaTauri.

The Mercedes, struggling with the rebound on this very bumpy urban circuit, appear in seventh (Hamilton) and ninth (Russell) ranks. On the Alpine side, Alonso establishes the tenth reference while Ocon is only seventeenth.
