Setting up Google Analytics for WordPress in 5 steps

Have you ever wondered what visitors are doing on your WordPress website? Or have you ever thought about which pages of the site visitors tend to stay on the longest and which ones convert the best? Google Analytics can help you get insights to answer all (and more!) of the above questions. When you install a Google Analytics plugin on your WordPress website, it helps you collect these data points, which can then be used to improve your content.

With Google Analytics, you can analyze information about your website visitors and determine what works best for them. It will also allow you to increase conversions and get to know people interested in your business better. Installing the Google Analytics plugin is a simple process that only requires five steps.

To sign up for Analytics, all you need is a Google or Gmail account. The process of creating a Google Analytics account is quite simple; just follow the step by step instructions below. If you have a Gmail or Google account, you can use that to sign in.

The setup process may vary depending on the Analytics plugin you choose. There are several analytics plugins in the WordPress plugin library, including Google Analytics Dashboard for WordPress, MonsterInsights, and Analytics Cat. Whichever plugin you choose, here is a step-by-step guide to setting up the Analytics Dashboard.

1) Sign up for Google Analytics

On the next page, you will see your tracking ID, which includes your tracking code. It tells Google Analytics which account and which property to send the collected data to. Depending on the plugin you have chosen, you may need to add this information to the plugin.

2) Install your plugin

Choose a plugin you like and install it. Select “Settings” > “Insights” and navigate to the new plugin.

Next, authenticate your Google Account through WordPress, so that Google Analytics can access WordPress.

3) Authenticate your Google account

Click on “Insights” > “Authenticate” with your Google account and sign in to your Google account.

You may need to insert the tracking code in headers and footers by yourself with some plugins. Go to Site Settings > Insert Headers and Footers and paste the code in the Scripts section in the header.

4) Select the profile you want to follow

After letting your plugin access your Analytics information, select the profile you want to track. Select your website and click “Continue”.

You will then be directed to your WordPress website.

5) Start tracking

Google Analytics will now start tracking your website data, which you can view by clicking “Reports” in your Google Analytics dashboard through your Google Account. This means that you have successfully configured Google Analytics for your WordPress website.

Google Analytics provides you with information and data that can help you analyze and improve your website. You can dig deeper into what works and what doesn’t for your visitors, while better understanding their preferences. You can then tailor your content to their needs. In today’s highly competitive marketplace, Google Analytics can give you the edge you need to really make your website stand out.
