It’s a consequence of Matthijs de Ligt’s move from Juventus Turin to Bayern Munich. The imminent signing of the Dutch central defender will push Tanguy Kouassi (20) to think more deeply about his future. The French U20 international had already started it at the end of last season. Despite five starts in the last seven Bundesliga matches, and 22 games played in all competitions over the season, Kouassi aspires to have more playing time this season.
Two years from the end of his contract with Munich, the player trained at PSG expressed this desire to his leaders, via Vadim Vasilyev, who now manages his interests. The former AS Monaco manager is due to meet Hasan Salihamidzic, Bayern’s sporting director, again in the coming days to take stock after the expected signing of De Ligt.
Bayern want to extend it
In recent months, the Germans had rather the idea of keeping Kouassi to bring him into a rotation in the three-man defense of Julian Nagelsmann, with Benjamin Pavard, Dayot Upamecano, Lucas Hernandez, Chris Richards (on the start) and therefore Matthijs de Ligt. What was to materialize by a written extension offer of two years.

Kouassi is not convinced of the idea of staying at the club next season and is considering a departure, on loan or in a permanent transfer. Author of a convincing Toulon Tournament with the French U20s, the central defender – who can play in the middle – has no shortage of suitors in Europe. In France, Nice and Rennes, already attentive to his profile when he left PSG in 2020, have positioned themselves.
