Hint: this is not an electric vehicle or its Autopilot system. For Elon Musk, it’s a much bigger project than all of that put together. According to Insider, the Tesla boss claimed that the firm’s future humanoid robot is “the most important product development we’re doing this year.” It was in August 2021 that the famous entrepreneur unveiled his huge project, during the AI Day event. Called “Optimus” internally, and officially named Tesla Bot, this robot will benefit from the same technology as semi-autonomous vehicles.
Always passionate about research on artificial intelligence, Elon Musk wants to realize his biggest dream by the end of 2022. According to him, this humanoid robot has “the potential to be more important than the activity automobile over time. Although it is for the moment a simple draft, the billionaire hopes to release the first prototype this year. The Tesla Bot should measure approximately 1.73m for 56kg. This will essentially be designed with the driver assistance technology used for the automatic piloting of certain models.
Tesla Bot, the top priority
This ingenious humanoid robot will make it possible to carry out the “dangerous and repetitive tasks of humans”, affirmed our colleagues. “The foundation of the economy is work,” said Elon Musk. Much more than just a workforce, it is a technological revolution. When presented in August 2021, the Tesla Bot was presented as being “friendly” and aware of being in a human world. From now on, anyone with this robot will be able to let it do a boring effort for them.
Tesla made record profit in 2021
Tesla vehicle enthusiasts and those who were impatiently waiting for the Cybertruck will surely be disappointed. Indeed, the launch of its production has been postponed to 2023. By making Tesla Bot his priority, Elon Musk has decided that the firm will not introduce any new vehicles in 2022, according to Insider. As a reminder, the automaker posted record quarterly profits for the last quarter of 2021. It will therefore be necessary to be patient before owning a new product from the Tesla factories.
